Washington Day 4

Today was day 4 of our unbelievable Washington Trip. Today started very early at around 7:00 AM, then we got dressed and had breakfast. We left to the Canadian embassy at 8:30 AM and got there at 9:00. While we were there we listened to a very interesting speech from a man who worked at the embassy, he was explaining the relations between the Canadian embassy and the Canadian government. This man worked in the embassy in the Alberta section so he also explained the relations between Alberta and the rest of the world. He told us a very interesting fact that the province of Quebec has there own embassy because they are more independent than the other provinces. From there we went to the very exciting and very interesting Newseum. In the Newseum there were diverse exhibits from Abraham Lincoln to Babe Ruth retiring his legendary number 3 to the very controversial Ferguson police incident . There were many cool objects like a news helicopter, a part of the twin towers or the World Trade Center incident on September 9th, 2001. My favourite part of the museum was the parts of the Berlin Wall that were taken right from Germany when the wall was torn down. This exhibit showed many pictures some suttle some graphic which showed the terrible liven conditions but once it was turn there was a great sense of happiness around the world. Just as we very leaving there was a Washington Wizards playoff party, that was a pretty neat experience because it was right outside the Newseum and it was welcoming everyone. We then took our designated bus to the National Mall. The National Mall is a series of monuments that show the great people in American history and the important events that have happened over the years. My favourite memorial was FDR memorial or the Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Franklin Roosevelt had 4 terms as president of the United States. This memorial is split up into 4 parts, the first part is about his first term and contains just quotes, the second part contains statues about the Great Depression, the third part has a statue of him and his dog and the fourth part his the First Lady and his wife. After that we went on a long walk to see other monuments like the Vietnam war memorial, the Korean War Memorial, The Second World War memorial, The Lincoln Monument, The Jefferson Monument, The reflecting pool, the Einstein Statue and the famous Washington monument, Later that night we went to a shopping mall and every one bought lots of great stuff . Overall this was a very long but super interesting day, this was one of favourite days so far.
