Day 4- By Megan

Hi Everyone! Today was another phenomenal day in Washington. We had such a busy day filled with many activities. We began the day by going to the Canadian embassy. A representative from the Alberta department came to talk to us about exactly what the Alberta department and the embassy and general is responsible for, along with his personal job. He gave us lots of interesting info about the history and job of the embassy. After the very intriguing presentation at the Canadian embassy, we walked to the Newseum. I personally really enjoyed the Newseum and found everything there really interesting. When we first arrived at the Newseum, we went to watch a 4D movie explaining the history of news and the many different forms of news. The movie lasted about 15 minutes. There were lots of interesting exhibits such a long hall with articles of the newspapers from the 1400s and tell the present, and an exhibit about 9/11 explaining some of the history as well as the actual antenna that was destroyed and 9/11. I personally enjoyed an exhibit containing many different photographs, nice and depressing, and explanations for them. All of the photographs were Pulitzer Prize winners on their years. After the museum, we went on a long walk to see all of the monuments. This was a personal highlight of the trip so far for me. We got to see the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Martin Luther king Junior memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the World War II Memorial, the Roosevelt Memorial, and the Einstein memorial. We ended the day at the mall where we ate dinner and had a few hours to shop. We had another great day here in DC and can't wait for our last day tomorrow!
